Read full description of the books:Outcast feels a lot like Walking Dead — its plot is moving veeery slowly, the characters constantly act super dramatic, the demon guys are basically intelligent versions of zombies, and Kyle Barnes is Rick Grimes who doesn't get as many opportunities to give a big speech. Also like TWD, Outcast is very readable, and it has lots of ups and downs. This volume was definitely more on the dramatic side, most notably showing us the darkest moment of Reverend Anderson yet. This guy is a terrible reverend, isn't he? Unfortunately, Kirkman still doesn't want to answer any of the big questions, like who exactly are these demon guys, what are they trying to accomplish, what's so special about outcasts and when are we going to see more of them, and the biggest one of all — how can a regular human being take so much beating and still run away from the bad guys, and then immediately beat the shit out of another guy? It just doesn't make sense! Oh well, I hope it won't take Kirkman another 20 or so volumes to get to at least some of those questions.
